We were trying to use baby nail clippers and naturally the baby does not want to sit still for that. Those things are sharp and a hazard for little cuticles when baby flails around, and your only option is to kung fu grip his arms while you do it. I wasn't down for that. Unfortunately, since we refused to use the clippers, he started getting long nails and scratching himself (and mom's chest) up. We asked our pediatrician for advice on what to do and she stared at us before speaking just one word: "File." This, of course, was great advice, so we busted out the little curved nail file that we got in one of those complete baby crap kids, but it takes forever to file with that, the kid hates it, and the file seemed to be wearing out faster than his nails.

My wife finally bought this electric filing thing. Not saying he doesn't hate the electric filer, too, but it gets the job done quickly and won't hurt his little teeny fingers.
